Richard Grove's Paddle Log

Day 24: Beard’s Creek

These pictures were taken by Charles Sikes who I met at Adamson’s Fish Camp. He is retired from the GBI and was having an annual reunion with a bunch of his buddies from different law enforcement organizations.

We had a good, lengthy conversation and sat on the front porch of the lodge and ate peanuts. He took these pictures with a 35mm camera and gave me the roll of film. He also gave me a copy of “Running the River” by Carlton A. Morrison which is the history of poleboats, steamboats and timber rafts on the Altamaha and Ocmulgee Rivers. I carried it with me for the remainder of the trip and still have it.
